Bane NOR's Object Library

This is an English translation of Bane NOR´s object library. The Norwegian Version is the original

This is Bane NOR's open object library for the design of railway technical elements. Bane NOR wants to facilitate modeling projects, through the Digital Planning Handbook in Bane NOR, and the object library.

With the object library it is possible to simplify the design by using the available standard object for model design of railway technical facilities.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to commenting and quality assured preliminary versions.

We are grateful for any feedback on bugs and improvements that may help to create a better object library.

Prerequisite for use

When using the library, the user accepts these conditions:

The use of the library does not relieve the designer of the responsibility of quality assurance of the delivery. The objects that are available are for guidance only. Details of the design, sizes and location of the objects / elements are not to be seen as documented, as this may vary from plant to plant. The design, type and size of the objects must be checked before use, especially where there is limited space for placement. Bane NOR assumes no responsibility for errors or inconsistencies with objects in the library.

The responsibility for ensuring that the objects have the necessary volume for placement in the facility will remain in the projects. In many cases, there will be scarcity of areas within the facility, and it is therefore important that the objects are controlled for this.

The prerequisite for the library to function is that it should be expanded as more objects are developed in different projects. When using the library, it commits that new objects are sent to Bane NOR for entry into the library. It is a condition that these can then be used free of charge for all partners to Bane NOR. New objects and other comments can be sent to prosjekteringsveileder@banenor.no.

Objekter

You can download a zip file with all the objects: objektbibliotek.zip (Note that the object library will be updated continuously)

Individual objects can be downloaded from the overview of all objects, or by selecting the subject area: Objects:

An overview of all objects with properties can be found in Objekttypeliste

Format

The object library is so far only available in AutoCad's DWG format, version 2013.

The objects are built up as volumes in SOLID. Deviations may occur.

The objects are drawn with the following parameter:

Objekttype-ID

In order to connect the model to external databases, and to give a good structure in the model, the model is built up according to a standard object type ID. An extended table has been prepared that shows the structure and structure of object type ID for objects in railway engineering subjects. This is shown in the Object type list The table is under development and changes may occur without prior notice.

Each object is drawn with two layers. A layer with object type ID, which includes the volume object, and a layer with only the associated object's reference point.

<Object type ID> eks. 45247045

R_<Object type ID> eks.R_45247045

Specific additional information will be prepared for many of the objects. It is a goal that all objects should be added information that can follow the project from start to finish as final documentation. It will depend on the development of programs and the necessary standard for such information to be transmitted.

The structure and rules used for reference points are determined from the respective object catalog for the current subject.

Object-ID

When you insert the objects from the object library, you will be prompted to enter the object ID. This is a code used in connection with the storage of the model in Bane NOR's operating database, Rail Data. The code is generated by «BaneData» as a unique identity. But if the project is in an early project phase then no ObjectID has been generated. The project must then establish a temporary identity system for the various objects.

Standard file formats

The project data is transferred in standard LandXML, IFC og GML file format, or another agreed file format, and the original production format. Development is underway to adapt an open standard with the ability to transfer all necessary data from the model.
